Bedbugs! Avoid. I arrived late in the afternoon on my last day of the Camino. As with all the places I’ve stayed I checked the bedding and mattress for bedbugs and this time found all the signs: droppings on the mattress, small rust colour stains all over, and saw three bedbugs as well (see image for one). This is an issue all over the Camino and isn’t the end of the world. What prompted this one star review was the awful response from the staff. They didn’t believe it was bedbugs, saying it could have been a mosquito (???), then were incredibly rude when I asked if they would help me find somewhere else to stay as it was late and everywhere else was booked out. They repeatedly said no and told me to leave. I heard the local manager on the phone to her boss saying she couldn’t be bothered to help. Bed bugs happen, it’s not the end of the world, but what is worrying is a) the staff denying it was a problem, which may mean it spreads, and b) their rudeness when I flagged the problem. Not a place to chance. There are plenty of other lodging places nearby so definitely avoid this one!
