I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Golden Tulip hotel in Addis Ababa, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment on Tripadvisor to alert fellow travelers. My overall stay was marred by various issues, leaving me dissatisfied and frustrated.||One of the significant concerns was my attempt to extend my stay at the hotel. Initially booking for two nights, I decided to prolong my stay for a few additional nights. However, the process was far from smooth. The hotel staff quoted a noticeably higher fee for the same room, which was perplexing. To add to the confusion, online platforms like booking.com displayed the extended stay at the same rate as my initial booking. This lack of transparency and inconsistency in pricing left me feeling unwelcome and undervalued as a guest.||My decision to book only a part of my three-month trip initially stemmed from a previous unfortunate incident at the hotel. In a prior stay, I was locked out of my room after midnight, and the front desk did not have a master key to resolve the issue promptly. This caused significant disruption as all my belongings were inside the room and safe. After hours of inconvenience, attempting to open the room and safe, it was discovered that not only was the safe broken but there was no technician available to fix it.||Having stayed at numerous hotels in Addis Ababa in the past, I have never encountered such a series of problems. The lack of a swift and efficient resolution to these issues significantly impacted my overall experience at Golden Tulip.||Regrettably, I cannot recommend Golden Tulip Addis Ababa based on my recent stay, and I hope this review serves as a cautionary note for other travelers considering accommodation options in the area.
