Nyc based 30-something traveler here. Gringo Perdido where our friends stayed was fully booked so we went Camino Real, and loved it! Sort of like a retro 90s Florida hotel vibe. In a lush jungle with gorgeous huge lakefront space (outdoors seemed way bigger than GP, which we also checked out). Found a shady lawn overlooking the lake with no one and did yoga. Ceviche was best item on menu. Yes it’s not brand new but the rooms are very clean and relaxing with little private porches. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating (we conversed in Spanish)
