Then there's the Gardner Museum, which is like stepping into a 15th-century Venetian palace. It opened in 1903 and has this fantastic interior courtyard with flowers that change with the seasons. The collection is super diverse, with art from Europe, Asia, and Islamic regions going all the way back to classical times. And get this – some empty frames are on the walls because of a huge art heist back in 1990. They're still waiting for those pieces to come back.

Institute of Contemporary Art ICA

Now, let's talk about the ICA or the Institute of Contemporary Art. It's in this fantastic, big building in the Seaport and has been a big deal in the contemporary art scene since it's one of America's oldest. The place is huge, with a theater and café, and the glass walls give it a modern vibe. They've got all kinds of art, like films, performances, and even two-story slides in some past exhibits. It's known for showing offbeat, sometimes challenging contemporary works. If you're up for something more laid-back, they have concerts and DJ sets on this nice deck with great views. And in the summer, you can hop on a water taxi, included in your ticket, to check out unique installations at the ICA Watershed over in East Boston.

It's in this place called Fort Point Channel, and even though the area around it has changed a lot, the museum is still super cool inside. They've got these big open spaces for kids to explore. The coolest part? This huge three-story climbing structure is called the New Balance Foundation Climb. It's made of these twisty wires and curved wood, and kids just love it. Oh, and here's a fun fact: it's the second oldest children’s museum in the whole country.
