It has been a while since I stayed in this hotel. This time I was here with my family and we had two rooms. The hotel has been renovated (it was badly needed) and the renovation makes a big difference. The rooms now look fresh and new. I do have a couple of complaints though regarding the renovation. The first issue is the bathroom sink. One needs to be a giraffe with a long neck to use it. Forget about children using it. It is so far from the edge and the faucet is far too. The other issue is the fridge. It does not really work. In both our rooms, the fridge was there for looks only. Apart from these two issues, the rooms are great. The staff is amazingly friendly. We stayed a long time and they were very helpful. Everyone from management to housekeeping staff made us feel welcomed. If there is a note regarding the staff, it is about the house keeping staff. The room carpets, even after the daily cleaning, were still dirty. One of my kids dropped something and made a small spot outside of the door. That spot stayed there the whole time we were there. No one bothered to clean it. I did not inform the staff because, in reality, this is ABC of housekeeping. In general, it was a nice stay. The cool swimming pools in the Gulf heat were a blessing. The breakfast was full and healthy. The room service food left a bit to desire but the regular restaurant food was fine. The hotel has an amazing workout area, tennis (outside so really cannot play in the summer heat) and squash which we enjoyed almost daily.
