Stayed two nights here.|Even as a Platinum member, there are not too many perks offered.|Very surprised not to receive complimentary breakfast, instead charged 30 Euros each.|Likewise no lounge access. This is really not acceptable regardless of what the hotel policy is.|One plus point, I phone a local restaurant for a booking and was told they were full, however the front desk called the same restaurant and got us in.|While the breakfast was good quality and cooked fresh, it did not warrant 30 Euros.|Breakfast room was uncomfortably hot.|Room in the hotel was spacious corner room with good views.|Comfortable bed but road noise was a problem.|Cocktail bar is a pleasant place to sit for a while, although service isn't the fastest and prices are high. |Would stay here again if pressed, but with so many other options would like to try somewhere else.

This is for the corporate InterContinental staff that might be reading this review. One day, you may look at the lobby lounge/bar of the InterContinental Wien and feel compelled to update it. PLEASE, DON’T! The classic dark wood, the old chandelier, the leather armchairs, the tinkling piano music, the knowledgeable waiters in vests and bow ties, the tri-dish bar snacks, the picture frames, the hours, the candles…please don’t change a single thing. This is the definitive, classic hotel lounge. I live in NYC and have traveled to over 50 countries. These old-school lounges are impossibly rare to find. If I were a location scout for a film company, I would absolutely add it to my location list. ||I could write on other elements of this hotel. It doesn’t look like much from outside, the good location, the rooms are a bit dated, the staff and breakfast incredibly top-tier….however, I will let this review focus on the lounge. Unusual perhaps, to focus a review on one element, but it earns it.
