Wonderful place for a weekend away. Friendly service, great food and amazing surroundings. Comes recommended. Rooms are a bit small, but luxuriously designed.
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night, we arrived 6pm - we were greeted by reception who quickly showed us to our room but did not explain much else in terms of facilities. We then visited the spa which was unfortunately very overcrowded and few options with just the small pool and steam room. We called ahead in order to book dinner but they were fully booked which was fine but they didn’t advise that there would be other options for food once we were there so we ate before we came. After the spa we decided to venture into the main hotel area for a drink, this I think was the main let down for us. We were seated and then left for 10 minutes before being asked what we would like to then be given a tablet with the drinks menu, all the staff were busy serving other diners who were going to Arden and we were left for another 20 minutes before being asked what we would like - I ordered a Bloody Mary and my husband another cocktail along with a bottle of water, which took a further 20 minutes to arrive. My Bloody Mary at a cost of 16 EUR arrived as 1) a glass of ice (no vodka which the bar man quickly realised and took back) 2) the largest bottle of tomato juice and 3)a bottle of tobasco - generally would have expected a lot more from such an establishment. Overpriced for what it is, rooms are on the smaller side even when upgrading to one of the larger rooms. They charged an extra 30 EUR pp for breakfast which is okay, also paid an extra 30 EUR for our dog and they literally provide nothing. On check out there was no staff to assist so we had to leave and they emailed the bill later. Great potential but needs organisation
