We visited Nosara as a "happy accident" - a family vacation was cancelled and my husband and I had added on a private short stay at Tierra Magnifica, and we decided to keep the reservation and extend it - and we are SO glad we did! (we loved it so much we extended our stay further while we are there). Steve and his family and staff have created a beautiful oasis up in the hills, with incredible views, gorgeous grounds, lovely rooms and timeless facilities that feel very much of the place. Due to our erratic booking schedule, we stayed in three different types rooms - Brisa, Vista King and Vista Double - and all were comfortable well kept. ||The front desk staff - Roger, Keyra & Abel - are friendly and helpful, they arranged transport and birdwatching for us, and managed the complexities of our multiple bookings/changing rooms. I had two spa experiences while there and both were excellent. The morning yoga is wonderful, a perfect start to a relaxing day. ||The restaurant is incredible - our food was excellent at every meal (we ate there and at different restaurants in the area), and the chef was kind enough to cook us three meals from our catch at our fishing excursion, and each one was excellent and so appreciated. The view from the restaurant is amazing, I will forever cherish my memories of an early morning coffee spotting squirrel cuckoos, mot mots, and orioles from our table. ||The restaurant staff works so hard to ensure you have a good experience. A big thank you to Zully, Michi, Alex, Jose, Sergio & Daniela for everything. ||The new Jungle Lounge is so amazing - there are two "nests" where you can snuggle up on cushions and watch the monkeys & birds in the trees. It was a perfect spot for a nightly game of cards with a cocktail, a game of pool, or some football for my husband. ||The access to the surf club is convenient, we rented a side by side but the tuk tuks there and back are very easy. I did not realize that the surf club is basically access to a locker/shower and rental boards - no loungers/etc - so very DIY, but there is nothing like that on the beach - that's just the culture here, but you can rent beach chairs and an umbrella in the town so once you have that you're set.||Sorry - long review but we had such a good experience we wanted to share. It is a place truly worthy of its name! We look forward to coming back!

Returning to TM is like returning (to a dream) home! We first came to TM three years ago and now, no trip to Nosara is complete without a stop or stay there. From our very first email exchange with Steve (the owner) to our in person greetings, Steve and his family are always so kind and helpful and it's always great to see them around the property. The staff is warm and welcoming and helped us with everything from dinner reservations to transportation to booking massages. We were even surprised with champagne to help us celebrate our recent engagement! A special thank you to Roger for helping us coordinate a seamless stay even before our arrival and also to Keyra and Abel.||I also want to thank Ana for the incredible morning yoga sessions and her help coordinating our wellness treatments. This was a welcome addition to the other amenities offered by TM. We used Nosara Surf School for surf lessons (Maikol, the owner, is the best of the best) and we can't recommend them enough for first-timers, intermediate surfers, or advanced surfers looking to refine their technique. ||One of the biggest benefits of staying at TM is the excellent restaurant, Huacas. After a day of surfing and exploring, it's a treat to have a place to return to where you know the food and drinks will be excellent. There are some days that my fiancee and I would eat all of our meals there, which not only took the stress out of deciding where to eat, but also maximized our time to rest and relax. Chef Valerios creates the most delicious meals! Our favorite this time around was the Nicoya Paella and the Lovers Picadillo (pictured). A special thank you to Zully and Kristy (who we were thrilled to see again and really make our stay with their warmth and kindness) and Daniela, Alex, Jose, Michi, Marlen, Sergio, and Esteban -- and Karina and Danny for mixing up our favorite drinks: Mexican Medicine and Mezquina! ||I cannot thank Steve, family, and the incredible staff enough for creating and cultivating this little slice of paradise. We are already looking forward to our return! |
