Hotel Riu Cabo Verde - All Inclusive Adults Only

On the whole, we had a wonderful holiday at Riu Cabo Verde.|The amazing staff really make this hotel what it is and Riu should be so proud of them.|Our room was OK but appeared to have had a part refurb but this is not a complaint as it was clean and comfortable so it's merely an observation. We were however disappointed with our balcony as we had very little, if any sun at all during the day. |The food was OK and some days quite nice and there was always plenty of choice of things to eat even for fussy eaters. |We found the drinks to be fine and plentiful and the staff were happy to make you any cocktail that wasn't listed on the menu. |We found the pool area a little crowded but again this is a personal preference.|The pool/swim up bar staff and animation staff really made our holiday as they were so cheerful, friendly and full of fun and made every single guest feel involved. |We really enjoyed the Kulanarium a la carte restaurant but found the steak house and Italian rather poor, sorry. Lots of other guest we spoke to felt the same. |The Santa Maria snack bar was so slow at breakfast. It opened at 10.30am but when we arrived at 11am for a late breakfast nothing had been cooked or set up which was frustrating as this happened over several days so I would recommend that management look into this. |The main thing that we were disappointed about was that we had booked an adults only hotel for a reason (we are grandparents so love being around children) but to find that the entertainment was in the sister hotel next door which was absolutely full of kids but we did still enjoy the nights spent there The fact that the 24hr sports bar and nightclub were in the family side of the hotel just didn't quite make sense! |We grew to like this hotel more as the 2 weeks went on and had an amazing time and have decided that we would return despite the little niggles.
