I had the pleasure of staying at the Esplanade Hotel from the 21st to the 26th of October. Despite arriving late at night due to issues at my previous hotel, I was greeted warmly by the front office manager, Zdenek, who instantly made me feel welcome. The hotel exudes a classic ambiance, with its nearly century-old architecture elegantly themed in a traditional manner. The atmosphere is undeniably charming and adds to the overall delightful experience. My room was maintained impeccably clean throughout my stay, with daily housekeeping ensuring a comfortable and tidy space. The bedding was refreshed every other day, which I found to be quite satisfactory. The rooms were not remarkably quiet as there was some noise from outside, but it didn’t disturb my sleep. The beds, though on the firmer side, were comfortable enough for a restful sleep. During my stay, the air conditioning was turned off as it was outside the peak summer period, which led to my room getting quite warm at times. However, a quick airing by opening the window easily resolved this minor issue. The service rendered by the hotel staff was nothing short of exemplary. Each member of the team displayed a friendly and hospitable demeanor. Zdenek, who worked the night shifts, was always available for a pleasant chat upon my return in the evenings, and offered valuable recommendations for exploring the city. His genuine care and attentiveness significantly enhanced my experience at the Esplanade. An additional shout-out goes to the ever-present bellmen, who graciously opened the doors and securely looked after my luggage post-checkout, adding an extra touch of hospitality. While the breakfast offerings were somewhat limited, the quality of the available options was good and I never found the spread to be lacking. The location of the hotel is another major plus, situated right opposite the train station and merely a 4-minute walk to the nearest metro station and the National Museum. The convenience of the location made exploring Prague a breeze. I wholeheartedly recommend the Esplanade Hotel to anyone seeking a well-appointed hotel in a prime location. However, on my next visit to Prague, I might opt for an apartment for a change of experience. Zdenek and the rest of the Esplanade team certainly contribute to making the hotel a noteworthy choice for travelers to Prague, and I am grateful for the memorable stay.
