If you are seeking a unique, personal experience, away from commercial resorts, there can surely be no better place than the Naqalia Lodge. A beautiful, secluded corner of the Yasawa Islands, run by a fabulous family team, serving authentic Fijian food with a slice of islander life and leisure activities on offer to fill your days. An absolutely fabulous experience, I cannot thank Aku and his family enough.

Naqalia Lodge was one of my favourite stays in Fiji. If you're looking to escape the bigger resorts, then this locally run, low key gem is the place for you. The bure we stayed in was spacious and clean and the bed was large and comfortable. It also has a nice sitting area and a covered porch with a couch for watching the ocean and relaxing during the heat of the day. There is electricity during limited hours so plan for it. There are no hot showers, but not really needed in such a warm climate. The food was good and prepared with care. We were lucky to be present for Aku and Aku's double birthday party. Such a beautiful gathering of family and friends. Singing, dancing, lots of laughter and an opportunity to experience traditional lovo (food cooked in an underground oven). Thank you for your hospitality! I wish we could have stayed longer!
