We were given one of the best rooms at the resort! It overlooked the swimming pool (2nd floor), had a beautiful view where we were able to see glorious sunrises, the suite was spacious, my daughter had her own area (living room), and it came with its own hot tub on our deck. It had high domed ceilings, filled with many windows, shutters for window coverings, the deck wrapped around our entire suite giving us many different views. We really enjoyed the suite. ||The customer service from all of the resort employees was outstanding. They were attentive, sincere and knowledgeable. The manager was always mobile and onsite. He was very attentive and cordial. I can’t say enough about how great they treated us. It really made our vacation special. We were there to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from college. ||The food was great and the chef created custom made dishes as requested. The dishes were tasty, healthy and delicious.||The location was central to the small town/village of Megalochori. We were able to walk to several eateries and even a family bakery that had my favorite homemade loukoumi (Turkish delights). We also found a local cave house that was open to the public without charge.

Vedema was perfect for our family. Having two young children meant we really wanted to stay somewhere relaxing but also family friendly to end our time in Greece. We splurged a bit on accommodation and I’m glad we chose Vedema.||The location is really great for being away from crowds while still getting an authentic Santorini experience. Megalochori is quaint and has a cute center with restaurants (Olio was our favorite), a small market/convenience store and even a playground. We figured out how to take the bus to/from Fira but you can also arrange for a taxi from the hotel for anywhere you want to go. We also walked to the playground and we’re just steps away from lots of restaurant options. We utilized room service several times and also liked the food at the restaurant near the main pool. All of the food on site was delicious!||The service at Vedema really sets it apart. The staff are genuinely kind and anticipate your needs. We felt so welcomed and everyone was so sweet with our kids. Everyone in reception, dining, housekeeping etc. was fantastic and definitely the best staff we have ever had at a hotel. ||The room (Athenian/Gamma 2) was really great for a family. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms separated by a living area so we could stay awake after the kids went to sleep early. The room was beautifully appointed and had great bath products. Housekeeping was immaculate and we appreciated the turndown service, welcome bottle of Prosecco for our honeymoon, and fresh towels and ample water bottles daily. The outdoor space was also really nice and had a dining table and lounge chairs. ||The grounds of the hotel are beautiful-whoever does their landscaping should be incredibly proud of the gorgeous atmosphere they have created. There are two pools and a jacuzzi, spa (we enjoyed our couples massage), gym, lots of places to sit and an on-site restaurant Alati. ||The food we had at the Pergola restaurant was very good (the mezze plate and smash burger especially). Our son liked the chicken nuggets and fries and pretty much just ate that every day. The breakfast was complimentary and a la carte and we enjoyed all of the things we had. Their bread/pastries were especially great. ||We really had a fantastic stay and it’s hard to find any fault with our stay. My only suggestions would more signage around the grounds (it’s a large property so we sometimes got lost looking for the pool or lunch). The towels and robes could also use some fabric softener and the check-in process could be more streamlined.||For families with young children, definitely utilize the babysitting service. We had a sitter come so we could go out to dinner and explore Megalochori for a few hours and it was a wonderful service with an experienced and vetted caregiver. Even when we ordered room service for the kids, the presentation was so thoughtful and elegant. ||Highly recommend Vedema if you are heading to Santorini-it really made our time in Greece memorable.
