Stayed here 2 nights for our honeymoon in a pool villa. The coordination for boat transfer was great, resort arranged everything for us and had a nice welcoming. The location is also great, walking distance to many restaurants and in the centre of lembongan. Lots to see and do. Service was also good, staff was helpful and accommodating Spa was amazing, great atmosphere and services Now the downside: the villa is very outdated. For a high-end luxury resort, it really needs some renovation and updates. It may have been great 10-15 years ago, but not by todays standards. The TV does not even have Netflix/casting service. The furniture and villa structure looks worn down. The mosquito net of our bed had stains, the toilet had mold, and was overall not very clean. With much needed renovation, I’m sure this place will earn the full 5 stars, as the amenities, location, and service are all spot on

I have never been so unimpressed with a place in such a short space of time. I wasn’t staying, but completed their contact form, asking if we could book some massages and a table for lunch. I didn’t recieved a response, so emailed the spa. Then, I messaged the hotel on Facebook. No reply. Eventually, we decided that we would go anyway. When we got there, we were told that there was no space at the spa. I then asked if we might be able to use the pool and order some food and drinks, as otherwise we’d have made the trip for no reason. They said yes, if we agreed to a minimum spend, which wasn’t an issue, then went to get us a pass. When he returned, he said he was wrong and we couldn’t stay, as they needed to leave space for guests. I looked around and couldn’t see a single guest. First, answer your emails and it’ll save people wasting their time. Second, if you decide not to reply to people, try not to further make people feel unwelcome when they make a journey to your establishment, happy to spend money. Finally, I don’t appreciate being patronized. He suggested that next time I could stay with them, maybe for one night. I’m sure he didn’t mean for this to be rude, but I found it to be. Given the odd atmosphere and unhelpful, unmotivated staff, I would absolutely not be staying here in the future. Maybe they should live up to their four stars before they start turning people away. RESPONSE TO REPLY… I received a response and wanted to update accordingly. Firstly, I am grateful for such a detailed reply. For clarity, I conversed with your staff member in English - like the majority of tourists in Indonesia, I unfortunately do not speak your language. However, he seemed more than content with English. If he had struggled, which he did not seem to, I would have been more than happy to speak to someone else, or to speak in another language, if this was easier. I would also like to clarify that, whilst disappointed, I was not disgruntled and was nothing but polite. I would also like to point out that I had never seen that visitors would not be able to use the facilities. It was for this reason that I took the time to email with questions before visiting. Whilst your response obviously took time, the underlying fact is that, had I received a response, I wouldn’t have made the journey, wouldn’t have been disappointed and there wouldn’t have been any confusion with your staff. I would be highly surprised if your contact form, email and Facebook did not work, so I would suggest two things: (1) that these are monitored more tightly; (2) that if someone has made an effort to get in touch, then made the effort to visit from the other side of the island, you might give the staff the power to deal with this appropriately.
