We stayed at the Annatara Hotel as part of a travel package. ||||At first, I was hesitant to select this hotel because if you look at a map of Rome it appears to be quite some distance from the major sights and it is located right by Termini Station. I checked the reviews before selecting this hotel and we were not disappointed.||||Yes, you are three minutes from Termini Station and the traffic on the Plaza Republicca can be a bit daunting but the Trevi Fountain is a 20 minute walk from the hotel. The Pantheon, is approximately a 25 minute walk. The Forum and the Colloseum are also within walking distance! The only time we used a cab while staying here was to get to the Vatican in time for a tour. If you do not feel like walking, there is a Metro stop directly across the street and getting a cab was a breeze no matter the time of day.||||The staff at this hotel are top notch. Everyone, whether it was a door man, concierge, housekeeping or security never failed to say Buongiorno or Buonasera when they saw us. I don't remember the last time a hotel offered turn down service, but every night, like clockwork, a member of housekeeping came to our room to make certain everything was in order. ||||I would also like to give a shout out to Isabel at the concierge's desk. She was most patient and helpful and always took time to answer our questions or make a dinner reservation for us.||||Our only quibble is that we stayed in a room that was located in a building adjacent to the main edifice and when I say that we had no view, I mean we literally did not have a view out of our room. The french doors opened to an enclosed area where the walls were over 8 feet tall. The only source of sunlight was from the top of this enclosure. ||||If you are looking for an elegant and luxurious hotel in Rome, the Anantara will certainly live up to your expectations.

We spent 12/30-1/3 in Rome to celebrate the New Year and wanted a 5 Star hotel with high walkability to everything but not in the middle of everything so when we were back we at the room, we had peace. This hotel fit the bill. ||The amenities were great, from fancy bath products to bathrobes and plenty of towels and water replenished multiple times a day. Espresso and tea were free and replenished. The building, an old palace was gorgeous. ||The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We knew we wouldn’t have more than a courtyard view but we were a little confused to have a balcony with a sold wall in front of it. All the rooms in our wing had it. It was strange but honestly, we were not there for the view. ||Giulia, the concierge was AMAZING!!! She helped us almost every evening with questions big and small, from confirming that it really was as easy as entering the Metro in front of the hotel to ride to the Vatican, to the toughest assignment of all- finding us a restaurant with a truffles menu on New Years Day when just about every place was closed. She never gave up on that reservation and we had a wonderful evening. Even better, we had a great story to share with her the next day about what happened at dinner (a nice surprise that I will not share for everyone). She truly loved the story. She made our entire stay better. ||Also the breakfast was outstanding but it in particular, we felt Fillipo gave us spectacular service. (I tried to read his name tag the last day, I hope that is right. It was busy and I didn’t want to bother him more). ||We got exactly what we expected, a bit of luxury on our trip to Rome. Thanks to all who helped make it special.
