Large, beautiful rooms with wonderful bathrooms, great water pressure, very decent toiletries including body scrub. Super clean, with a turn down service as well as a morning one. Lots of little details make this place great, including all the statues, but mostly the friendliness of the staff, who always welcomed us back from Angkor Wat with a cool towel marinated in lemon grass. We were initially looking at hotels that were much more expensive but Golden Temple Retreat really delivered for a fraction of the cost. It's located near our favourite restaurants and just 10 minutes from the river and fun local bars that are off the busy strip.
We have stayed three different times at this location! The staff is absolutely amazing! You are greeted with a cool washcloth to wipe and have a refreshing drink with some nuts. The atmosphere is nice and the rooms are spacious with the most comfortable beds! They have fresh flowers in the rooms and a fruit plate. There is a nice bathroom with a nice tub and in addition to a separate shower. Wonderful breakfast buffet and a free lunch which we could order ahead of time. We were able to take it on one of our excursion days! We were able to have a two hour massage that was one of the best we have had and the price was amazing! We love staying at this location as it is in walking distance to downtown! There are plenty of sidewalks for exercising in the mornings! This is definitely our favorite place to stay and the cost is great! We highly recommend it!
