My husband & I were looking forward to the Casitas we have been a Ruby member since 2013. This is how it started...||We booked Private transportation thru them ( Lomas) and paid for it ourselves because we were only staying 5 days. ( 7 days it's included)||When we finally got out of the airport we found the Lomas guy at his Place and we were not on his list... we had to take a taxi ride and pay another $110.00 US for a ride to the hotel..... We took this up Lomas there at the Casitas of course no one could help us they told us to phone when we get back to get a refund for the taxi ride which we have done and of course they have giving us the wrong email address for the refund. So much fun!||We finally showed up at 10:30 at night because the immigration at the Cancun airport was horrible we had to wait 2 hours and 15 minutes to get thru with other travelers trying to butt in front of us. Not fun being in a hot airport that long and so many people waiting.|.|When we got to the El Dorado casita entrance we were not on the list REALLY! we had our reservation to show them then we finally got in. We did not receive the bottle of champagne or the scented pillows but they did have the correct alcohol in our room.||We were put in a casita swim up which was what we requested but we got a shady side instead of the sunny side we requested they truly are wonderful...||We had a wonderful time we have been there 2-3 times over the years.||It has deteriorated and needs an update for sure and the maids should do a better job cleaning the floors in all the corners... also our air conditioning on the wall leaked there was a huge puddle in our room they came and repaired it rite away but no one cleaned up the water...||The friendly staff and our personal butlers ( Hector and Rafa) were very helpful they were awesome! Same as all the restaurant staff food was great and staff in all the restaurants were very good!|| It is to bad you have to pay for Fuentes when it was always included before.|Always such a wonderful culinary experience!||Also we went for a massage we highly recommend this delightful !||Then we went to our meeting with them they wanted us to update our membership, they want way to much, we did not do this... we already paid for ours initially in 2013 but they wanted us to upgrade... we did Not.||The casitas are wonderful and fun but there are a lot of other places we would like to see. ||All in All once updated this will be the wonderful place it was again..||Also we noticed like other people have said that we really don't get a discount on the rooms like they say you do because you are a member.. I found rooms on other site for the same $$$ so beware of buying the membership... Not worth it.||Also the flyback every time you try to get your money back it is a hassle takes 6 months up to 18 months even when you summit all the correct documents.

We stayed here for the first time with two other couples from 12/31/23 - 01/07/24. As stated in other reviews, this resort is very big and very clean. Probably the cleanest resort I've ever been to in regards to the beach and the grounds. Don't let the size of this resort intimidate you as they have a fleet of 8 person electric golf carts that act as shuttles to take you between the three resorts (El Dorado Royale, Casitas, and the family friendly Generations). We found that the carts would run from about 8am until 11pm. There are shuttle stops throughout the resort and the longest we ever had to wait was less than 10 minutes. This is a non-smoking resort but they wouldn't hassle you if you were discreet about it. ||||Upon check-in, our room wasn't ready but the resort's martini bar was in the lobby and that was the first stop. I must say, this bar, and pretty much every bar on the resort had an extensive selection of top shelf alcohol. In speaking with the bartender, he said they were known for their chocolate martinis and espresso martinis and let me say, they did not disappoint! Once we finished our beverages, we were going to explore the resort on foot when one of the luggage handlers, Macaroni, offered to give us a quick golf cart tour of the resort before the next shuttle of guests arrived. During the tour, he showed us where all of the restaurants were, gave us his recommendations on dining and other information about the resort. Thank you Macaroni for giving us a great first impression of the resort. ||||We were given room 0112 which was in building #1, second floor facing the beach. This location was steps away from the beachfront smoothie bar and natural saltwater pool. The room was very clean and the air conditioning was very cold. Buildings 1-6 had their own designated concierge so once we got settled we headed there to make dinner reservations as several other reviews stated all of the restaurants needed reservations. Apparently the availability of the restaurants changes weekly and we were provided a sheet of paper which indicated which restaurants required reservations, which had walk-in availability, which were closed on certain days during our stay, and whether they were open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. For example, the buffet, Cocotal, was only open for breakfast for the week we were there and La Isla only offered breakfast and lunch, no dinner service.||||Speaking of food, we were very happy with the selection and quality of the food. From the street tacos at La Isla, the wood-fired brick oven pizzas from La Cabena, to the Pan-asian food at Kampei and the Sante Fe steakhouse, we never left hungry. The Palms was probably our favorite breakfast spot as it was open air and right on the beach and they can make a darn good eggs benedict. While the food was good, the service was even better. From the lobby bar to the pool and restaurants, you were constantly being checked on. There were several people that were exceptional in the service aspect of things and they deserve to be recognized:||||Augustin - poolside server at La Isla pool. This man made sure we were never thirsty!||Levbert & Luis - La Isla pool swim up bartenders. These guys can make a drink!||Noe - breakfast at La Isla and day bed attendant at the La Isla Pool||Eduardo - Kampei restaurant||Israel - La Isla restaurant||Memo - Fuentes Culinary Theater||Alex - Palms beachfront restaurant||Roberto - La Cabena pizzaria||Eduardo - Sante Fe restaurant||Eriberto - Rincon Mexican restaurant||Hugo, Eduardo, Fernando - entertainment crew / pool volleyball / water polo / beach volleyball||(I know I mentioned Eduardo 3 times but they are 3 different Eduardos, lol)||||While the Royale and Casitas are adult-only, they are attached to the family-friendly Generations resort, and the Nickelodeon resort (which is also owned by Karisma) which makes it easy to travel with other couples that may have kids. We would definitely return to this resort in the future.||||Oh, and by the way, several other reviews stated that they were pressured, sometimes repeatedly, to buy into the resort's membership program. While that may have been the case for them, no one in our 6 person group was ever approached by anyone trying to get us to buy into something.
