Everything about our stay at The American Club has been fantastic. The food is great, the staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel rooms are spacious, there are plenty of activities both indoors and outdoors, and the spa is enjoyable. Attention to detail is high everywhere I look.

Stayed the weekend of November 18. Were told by the "existing reservations" call center, that check in was 4 pm and that we'd have to find parking where ever we could. We had to take a shuttle bus from a nearby shopping center to the hotel, leaving our vehicle and luggage behind. Got to the front desk: "oh no, you can check in immediately and we have valet parking for hotel guests." So had to take the shuttle bus back to the shopping center and retrieve our vehicle. Highly inconvenient and definitely not "5 star." Sunday 6 am. Wakened by a clanging bell. So then we're up. Got ready for the day, packed, then by 9 am, we wanted breakfast. Tried to call the Wisconsin Room to change breakfast reservation from 11 am. No one picked up. Had to walk down there, restaurant about 80% empty, told they had no waitstaff to accommodate an earlier breakfast. Told to call room service. We we knew that if we called room service (with limited options and high prices,) that food would not arrive for an hour or more. No other place for breakfast before 11 am in this 5 star hotel. Checked out, went to another restaurant on the way out of town. Unless you are on an expense account junket, not recommended. Seems they are short of staff and services.
