Our stay was simply wonderful! My family of four stayed at the JW Marriott New Orleans for 5 days over Christmas. I have been to NOLA several times, but this was the first trip for the wife and kids. From looking at a map, I was worried that this location would not be close enough to several French Quarter attractions. However, the location is simply perfect - 2 minutes from Bourbon, but on the other side of Canal so that noise and other disruptions are not an issue. Moreover, this property deserves the highest star rating that exists. Rooms and common areas were immaculate. Last but definitely not least, all of the hospitality professionals went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Annabelle at the front desk and Marc Shuminer showed extraordinary attention and kindness during our stay. They both really made our holiday season. I would easily put this property up against the Ritz or the Roosevelt as the best family friendly hotels in NOLA. This is the only place we will stay in when we return!

If you’re like us, you’re a Bonvoy member trying to decide which property to stay in during a trip to NOLA. Both the Marriott and JW marriott (as well as the Sheraton and Marriott Courtyard) are within a block of Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. we decided between Marriott and JW marriott. JW. Marriott is a comfortable and attractive marriott property, Marriott set up more for conferences. Biggest factor for us was the lounge, which is much better in Marriott than JW Marriott. Marriott has omelets to order, good selection of fresh fruit and berries, and house made beignets, house made beignets, and is open for both breakfast and light dinner. JW as of this writing has none of these and a very basic breakfast (which did include salmon and bagels, which Marriott does as well). we ended up moving because of the breakfast.
