The Ocean Key Resort by VSA Resorts

Based on previous reviews, we had relatively low expectations of this resort; however, we were pleasantly surprised overall. The resort appears to be in the process of updating the suites (although they had clearly not yet gotten to the bathrooms), and the bedroom was quite spacious, so we could fit our toddler's travel bed easily. That said, a few cons:||||-The walls are paper thin. We could hear people's conversations as well as their coughs as if they were in the room with us. ||-The bathroom very badly needed updated. It also wasn't as clean as I would have liked (and we were charged a cleaning fee, which makes that grate even more) -- the walls had visible dust and grime, and the bathtub had black spots. The towel rack was also broken.||-We promised our toddler that we would be able to go swimming in the indoor pool, but it's not heated so it was a frigid 75 degrees. ||||Overall, however, the bed was very comfortable, the room was a good size and (except for the bathroom) clean, and the staff was very friendly. It's also steps away from the beach/boardwalk, good restaurants, and a lovely little playground. I think this has the potential to be a much better resort if some more updates are made.
