This hotel is extremely hostile to elite members. The penny-pinching owners of this particular property value profit over everything else, including providing good service or honoring and meeting reasonable expectations. The hotel web-page boasts that it has one of only two m-life clubs in the city, but what they do not say is that when they “aren’t busy enough” management will go ahead and close the club, leaving elite members who chose the property because of the club out to dry. They close a lounge with 24-hour access to snacks and free drinks and invite you to their over-priced lobby bar instead. Worse, they replace a full free breakfast that includes eggs and breakfast meats with a voucher for a carb-only continental breakfast at their restaurant. Hotel management, again when things are “slow” also reduce staffing to austerity levels, as evidenced by the 30 minute wait I had for check-in at 9pm on a random Tuesday night because only 1 person was working. Finally, even if you are “lucky” enough to find yourself here during one of these austerity periods, do not expect any kind of a meaningful room upgrade. Instead, you will most likely get the increasingly common and always aggravating token upgrade to a higher floor or “room with a better view.” Elites, look elsewhere. If want a lounge, I recommend the Marriott in Georgetown instead — the lounge is smaller, but management there doesn’t just randomly close the lounge to boost profits.

Location of hotel and rooms are good but service sub par. Stayed here while my company hosted a conference here. Was in meetings all day and came back to my room to find someone stole many items out of my room. The door was not broken, and by what the insurance claims person told me, someone used a device to pull the latch from the inside by slipping it under the door. My room was in the middle of the floor and the only way someone knew I had items worth taking in my room was from the house cleaning telling someone. Definitely an inside job. Marriotts insurance adjuster said hes seen this happen quite a bit across a number of properties recently. The hotel said they weren’t liable because the door lock functioned fine. Months of arguing with the local hotel and corporate resulted in zero actions done. Was assured by corporate they would escalate and make right but never did. I’m a Hilton guy now, will not stay at another Marriott hotel ever. TLDR: if you like your things stolen out of your room, stay here. Otherwise avoid like the plague.
