What Is Secret Flying and How Does It Work?

Secret Flying started in 2014 as a free site sharing super low airfares from around the world. It focuses on mistake fares, where airlines price tickets too cheaply by accident, and other budget options. Users visit the website to browse posts sorted by region, like USA deals or Europe specials. No sign-up is needed to browse, and free email alerts cover the departure or destination airports you pick.

The process is simple: spot a deal, click through to book on sites like Skyscanner or Priceline. They earn from affiliate links, keeping it free for you. In 2025, they've highlighted summer flights from Los Angeles to Tulum for $282 roundtrip. But deals can vanish fast since they're public.

While handy for casual browsers, it lacks personalization. You might miss out if you're not checking daily.

What Is RatePunk and How Does It Work?

RatePunk keeps track of what flights from your home airport usually cost, and we alert you when one drops below that price. Secret Flying posts cheap flights from all over the world. Anyone can look at them. RatePunk alerts are about one airport, the one you fly from.

RatePunk has an app for iPhone and Android and a web dashboard. Members see every deal there, and we send deal emails and alerts too.

As with Secret Flying, you book the flight on another site. That means the airline or a travel site, because RatePunk doesn't sell tickets. Secret Flying lets you browse without paying, but we charge for a membership. You need one to see a deal, and a 14-day money-back guarantee covers your first purchase.
