She didn't set out to become a travel expert, but once you start traveling, it has a way of taking over your life. A semester abroad in Spain led to a life-altering chance encounter (She fell in love with a Lithuanian!) and she ended up with a whole new life in Lithuania. That means she's a regular on transatlantic flights home to see family. With a large family of her own to plan trips for, she has spent a ridiculous amount of her time hunting down travel deals and has flown with just about every major European and American carrier more times than she can count. All those hours in airports and unfamiliar cities (with and without kids) mean she writes and edits from real experience, not guesswork. Before RatePunk, Heather spent nearly two years as Editor in Chief at DailyCoin, where her job was making one of the most confusing corners of finance make sense to everyday readers, not just industry insiders. She holds every RatePunk article to that same standard: if a topic is complicated, the explanation shouldn't be. She's also completed a Modern Journalism course through NYU's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.
