Ebookers Flights in 2027: 15 Places to Book Since Ebookers Closed

Ebookers closed on September 2, 2026. Expedia Group retired the brand across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Finland, and every ebookers address now sends you to Expedia or Hotels.com instead.

So the question is no longer which site beats Ebookers. It is where to book now. Let’s look at what each one does, what it costs, and where it stops working, so you can pick the one that suits how you travel.

Why Travelers Are Looking for Ebookers Alternatives

Because it is not there anymore. Ebookers started in London in the late 1990s as Flightbookers, one of the first places in Britain you could book a flight online. It sold flights, hotels, packages, and car rentals, which made it a booking site rather than a search engine. Expedia Group came to own it through its purchase of Orbitz Worldwide in 2015, shut the UK site in September 2024, and closed the rest two years later.

Three things to sort out if you used it:

• Trips you already booked - anything booked between June 12 and September 2, 2026 has to be completed by November 1, 2026.
• Your BONUS+ points - these became Hotels.com voucher codes, valid for twelve months. Tier status did not carry over.
• Your account - ebookers.com now redirects to Expedia, and the European sites to Hotels.com, so start there if you need a booking reference.

What Makes a Good Cheap Flight Finder

The first thing to get straight is what kind of site you are on, because Ebookers was one kind and most of what follows is the other. A booking site sells you the ticket and owns the problem afterward. A search engine finds the fare and hands you to an airline or an agent to pay, and then it is out of the picture. That difference decides who you call when a flight is canceled.

• Who you actually buy from - a search engine passes you on, so changes and refunds belong to whoever took your money, not to the site that found the fare.
• Whether the deals come to you - a site you have to remember to open is a site you will forget to open, so alerts matter more than search speed.
• Flexible dates and nearby airports - these are the two settings that move a price most, and a site that hides them will cost you money.
• What the fee page says - service fees, card surcharges, and subscriptions that renew at a higher price are where the advertised fare quietly goes.
• Whether the 24-hour rule reaches you - US rules give you a day to cancel, but they apply to airlines rather than to third-party booking sites, and that catches people out.

How to Maximize Cheap Flight Alerts

An alert is worth setting because fares move far more than anyone can follow by hand. CheapAir’s study of more than 917 million fares found the average ticket changes price about 49 times before it departs, by roughly $98 each time. CheapAir’s website now redirects to CheapOair.

• Set alerts in more than one place - no single site sees every fare, and the cheap one is usually on the site you did not check.
• Add the airports near you - a second airport an hour up the road is often the difference between a deal and a shrug, so put both in.
• Watch for mistake fares - these are pricing errors rather than sales, they are normally fixed within hours, and an airline is under no obligation to honor one.
• Book decisively, but with the 24-hour rule behind you - book directly with the airline seven or more days before departure and US rules let you cancel inside 24 hours for a full refund to your card. Book within a week of flying, or through a booking site rather than the airline, and that protection is gone.

Expert Hacks: Upgrade Your Flight Search

• Fly midweek - Google’s own analysis of its flight data put midweek departures about 12% below weekend ones, and about 20% below on domestic routes. Sunday is reliably the most expensive day to fly.
• Book inside the window - for US domestic flights CheapAir puts the cheap stretch at roughly three weeks to two and a half months ahead, with the low point near six weeks. Leave it until the last six days and you pay about 59% more.
• Book long-haul much earlier - Europe is cheapest around five to eight months ahead, Asia one to seven months, and Mexico and Central America two weeks to six months. Holidays compress all of these, so book earlier than the rule.
• Ignore the incognito advice - the largest controlled test of this covered 25 airlines and more than 130,000 searches with browser profiles built to look rich or thrifty, and found no sign that airlines raise fares based on your browsing history. A price that jumps between searches almost always means the cheapest seats sold out.

Best Ebookers Alternative to Find Cheap Flights

Here are fifteen alternatives. Each one gets the same three things: what you get, what it costs, and where it stops working. Ten companies own the fifteen, which is worth knowing before you check four of them and think you have four opinions. Kayak, Momondo, Cheapflights, and Priceline all belong to Booking Holdings. Skyscanner and Trip.com are both Trip.com Group. Opodo and eDreams are both eDreams ODIGEO.

1) RatePunk

Ebookers sold you a ticket for a trip you had already decided on. RatePunk starts from your home airport instead of a destination. RatePunk keeps track of what flights from your home airport usually cost, and we alert you when one drops below that price. You buy the ticket from the airline or a travel site such as Expedia, where ebookers.com redirects, because we don’t sell tickets.

• What you get - deals from your home airport before you’ve decided on a trip, in our app, on the web dashboard, and in deal emails and alerts. Each fare carries an AI Deal Score out of 100, which compares its price with the route’s typical fare and past prices.
• What it costs - RatePunk is a paid membership. No free trial, and our money-back guarantee covers the first purchase for 14 days.
• Where it stops - RatePunk may have no deal for the kind of trip Ebookers sold, where the dates and the destination are already fixed. Our deal emails and alerts are for a single home airport.

2) Skyscanner

Skyscanner is a flight search engine covering more than 1,200 travel partners, airlines and booking sites together. Owned by Trip.com Group.

• What you get - the Everywhere search, which shows the cheapest places you can fly from your airport when you have dates but no destination in mind, plus price alerts on routes you are watching.
• What it costs - nothing to search.
• Where it stops - it does not sell the ticket. You are handed to an airline or a booking site to pay, and changes and refunds are then that company’s problem, not Skyscanner’s.

3) Momondo

Momondo is a flight search engine built around its price calendar. Owned by Booking Holdings.

• What you get - a calendar showing what each day of the month costs, filters for stops and layover length, and carbon estimates on the results.
• What it costs - nothing to search.
• Where it stops - it shares a parent with Kayak, Cheapflights, and Priceline, so checking all four is one opinion four times rather than four opinions.

4) Google Flights

Google Flights is Google’s flight search. It finds the same fares as the others and is better than any of them at showing how a price moves through the year.

• What you get - a price graph showing what your route has cost month by month, a map for browsing by budget, and tracking that emails you when a fare changes.
• What it costs - nothing.
• Where it stops - the price guarantee only covers itineraries leaving the United States, and only where the badge appears, so it does nothing for a trip that starts in Europe. Like Skyscanner, it sends you elsewhere to pay.

5) Kayak

Kayak is a flight search engine that scans hundreds of sites at once. Owned by Booking Holdings.

• What you get - price forecasts, a flexible date grid, and Hacker Fares, which build a round trip out of two one-way tickets, sometimes on different airlines.
• What it costs - nothing to search.
• Where it stops - a Hacker Fare leaves you holding two separate bookings. If the first leg runs late, the second airline owes you nothing, and the two tickets can even use different airports in the same city.

6) Hopper

Hopper is an app that predicts whether to book now or wait, and sells you the ticket itself.

• What you get - a buy-or-wait recommendation on your route, deal watches, and a paid Price Freeze that holds a fare for a set number of days.
• What it costs - free to search. Price Freeze is charged per traveler and is not refundable.
• Where it stops - in July 2026 Hopper agreed to pay the Federal Trade Commission $35 million to settle claims it charged fees without consent, and that it did not make clear the freeze only covers a capped amount and that the fee is not put toward the ticket.

7) Kiwi.com

Kiwi.com builds routes by combining airlines that do not sell connections together, which turns up cheap trips nobody else lists.

• What you get - itineraries no other site will show you, because no airline would sell them as one ticket, plus automatic check-in for each leg.
• What it costs - free to search. The Kiwi.com Guarantee is a paid add-on, priced per booking at checkout.
• Where it stops - you collect your bags and check in again at every stop. The guarantee covers delays and cancellations caused by the airlines, but not a connection you miss in immigration or at baggage claim.

8) Airfarewatchdog

Airfarewatchdog emails you deal alerts and mistake fares, checked by people rather than only by software. Owned by SmarterTravel.

• What you get - alerts by departure city, with someone having confirmed the fare is real before it goes out.
• What it costs - nothing for economy deals from North America and the Caribbean, and paid plans add other cabins and regions.
• Where it stops - it is strongest on US domestic routes, so there is much less in it for a traveler flying out of Europe.

9) Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights)

Going sends email alerts for mistake fares and flash sales, built around your home airport.

• What you get - deals picked for the airport you fly from, in economy on the free and Premium tiers and in every cabin on Elite.
• What it costs - free, or $49 a year for Premium, or $199 for Elite.
• Where it stops - the free tier covers domestic economy from the contiguous United States only, with no Hawaii, Alaska, or territories, and international deals start at Premium.

10) Cheapflights

Cheapflights is a plain flight search, useful if the bigger sites give you more options than you want. Owned by Booking Holdings.

• What you get - price trend charts and an explore map, with fewer filters in the way.
• What it costs - nothing to search.
• Where it stops - same parent as Kayak, Momondo, and Priceline, so it is not a second opinion on any of them.

11) Priceline

Priceline is a booking site that sells you the ticket, with a cheaper opaque option alongside the normal fares.

• What you get - standard search, plus Express Deals, where you book a discounted fare without knowing the airline or the exact times until you have paid.
• What it costs - nothing to search.
• Where it stops - Express Deal fares cannot be changed or refunded, and they are excluded from the 24-hour cancellation window that covers Priceline’s other tickets.

12) Trip.com

Trip.com is a booking site with support around the clock, strongest on Asia-Pacific routes where it carries fares the Western sites do not. Owned by Trip.com Group, the same company as Skyscanner.

• What you get - global search with multi-city options, a price that does not change after payment is confirmed, and a phone number that answers.
• What it costs - nothing to search.
• Where it stops - its service guarantees exclude Ryanair bookings entirely, and do not apply to departures within two hours or to anything the airline caused.

13) Opodo

Opodo is a European booking site covering budget and full-service airlines. Owned by eDreams ODIGEO.

• What you get - flights, packages, and car rentals in one place, which is the closest thing on this list to what Ebookers did.
• What it costs - free to search, with a paid Prime subscription offered during booking.
• Where it stops - Austria’s supreme court ruled in 2024 that signing up for paid Opodo Prime during a booking is invalid, and struck down eleven of its terms, including automatic renewal. Read what you are agreeing to at checkout.

14) eDreams

eDreams is a booking site built around low-cost fare combinations and its Prime subscription. Same company as Opodo.

• What you get - fare combinations across carriers, with a detailed breakdown of what makes up the price.
• What it costs - free to search. Prime is a paid annual subscription.
• Where it stops - Italy’s competition authority fined eDreams €9 million in February 2026 over how Prime is sold and how hard it is to cancel, a ruling eDreams is appealing, and in June 2026 it paid penalties to Australia’s regulator over its free-trial claims.

15) Lastminute.com

Lastminute.com is a booking site for flash sales and late deals, often the cheapest option for a departure in the next few days.

• What you get - short-notice fares and bundles that the planning-ahead sites are not built to surface.
• What it costs - nothing to search.
• Where it stops - it gave the UK competition regulator formal undertakings in December 2020 to refund more than £7 million for canceled vacations, and was threatened with court action two months later over £1 million still owed.

Where to Book Instead

If you liked Ebookers because one company sold you the ticket and dealt with it afterward, you want a booking site rather than a search engine. Expedia is where your account went. Opodo and Trip.com do the same job, with the caveats above.

If you are willing to book with the airline directly, a search engine will usually be cheaper, and Google Flights or Skyscanner is the place to start. Do it seven days out or more, because that is the only way the 24-hour cancellation rule protects you.

RatePunk is worth adding alongside a booking site or a search engine when your trip has some flexibility and a budget but no destination yet.
