Why Look for a WayAway Alternative?

People look for a WayAway alternative for these reasons:

The site has changed — Typing wayaway.io lands you on Aviasales.com, so the WayAway you remember isn’t what loads.
Cashback isn’t a lower fare — WayAway’s cashback comes back after you book, so it doesn’t change the price you pay at checkout.
You still search — Like most search engines, WayAway shows results for a trip you’ve already chosen.

The Two Kinds of WayAway Alternatives

WayAway’s alternatives work in one of two ways:

Other search engines — Cheapflights, Kayak, Skyscanner, Momondo, and Google Flights compare airlines and agencies for a trip you enter, much as WayAway did.
Deal alerts — Some services skip the search and tell you when fares fall. RatePunk does this for your home airport, and each alert is a fare from there that has dropped below normal.

How to Maximize Your Savings

To get the most out of your chosen service, follow these tips:

Be flexible with dates and destinations.
The more open you are, the more deals you’ll see.
Set up alerts for multiple airports.
Nearby airports can offer even better prices.
Act fast on error fares.
These deals disappear quickly, so be ready to book.
Combine with hotel and car rental deals.
Some services offer bundled savings for a complete trip.
