The honest characterization: WestJet publishes real codes during major sale events — Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2025 ran public codes at 50%, 35%, and 25% off — but they're base-fare only, for new bookings, with blackout dates, and hard redemption caps (that 50% code was limited to 1,000 uses; it was gone almost immediately). Between sale events, codes arrive as targeted emails to WestJet Rewards members, not as anything a coupon site can hand you. When WestJet is cheapest

Fares we're tracking right now (updated August 2026): October is the floor — median round trips around $426 for October outbound dates, with September through December all sitting in the $426–468 band, against $842 for August and a January spike near $700. Fall is when the network is quietly cheap.

The UltraBasic trap

WestJet replaced its old Basic fare with UltraBasic, and it's stricter than the name suggests: on most North and Central America routes you cannot bring a carry-on at all — not even by paying (personal item only; exceptions on Europe/Asia routes). Seats are pre-assigned at the rear unless you pay, you board last, there are no changes or cancellations beyond the 24-hour window, and — the part loyalists miss — UltraBasic earns no WestJet Rewards points and strips elite benefits. It exists to win price comparisons; make sure the comparison includes the bag you actually carry. Checked bags cost extra through the Econo tier; two are included only from Premium up.
