#1 Drift Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, California)
Drift Santa Barbara, with 45 rooms and suites, is set to debut in downtown Santa Barbara, California, in January 2023. The interiors are basic yet dramatic. Materials like concrete, wood, and brass present a contemporary contrast to the traditional Mediterranean architecture of the early 20th-century structure in which it is housed. Dawn, a bustling café providing ethically sourced coffee from Good Citizen Coffee Co., and Dusk, an agave and raw bar with seasonal delicacies like ceviche, aguachile, and crudo, are both on-site.
#2 The Inn At Mattei's Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection (Los Olivos, California)
The Auberge Resorts Collection's The Inn at Mattei's Tavern, set to debut in February 2023, will have 67 luxury guest rooms and cottages that merge the simplicity of modern farmhouse decor with the diverse aesthetic of adjacent ranch life. The Inn at Mattei's Tavern, located on a historic tract of property in central California dotted with old-growth palm trees and adjacent to several wineries, was formerly a prominent stagecoach stop during the California gold rush years. In addition, there is an open-air restaurant, an outdoor pool with a poolside bar, cabanas, and firepits, and a distinctive spa at the Los Olivos hotel.
